Form in the first half of the season had been "dire", largely due to a lapse in morale as a result of uncertainty as to our access to Garscadden. There was a "definite improvement" in the second half of the season.

Outstanding Performances: Ted Hoyle's hat-trick against Britoil; James Robinson's "power batting"; Nigel Pyne was the leading wicket-taker; and Richard Rutnagur came top of the averages in both batting and bowling.

Indoor nets at the West of Scotland ground were already under way, were well attended and a strong spirit was emerging; so the prospects for the next season were good, given that we could gain some security in access to our home ground.

Garscadden:

  1. The poor maintenance of the ground was commented upon; particularly the poor rolling the strips receive. The use of the ground was low compared to other grounds in the West of Scotland.
  2. Reports had been received of a proposal to sell Garscadden and Westerlands, but no further information was available.
  3. The problem of drainage on the ground was discussed.

The Hon Captain expressed his thanks to Ian Jury and Robin Leake for captaining in his absence during the season; to Kevin Francis for organising the inter-club match and to Robin Leake for organising the evening meal which followed that match.
