1998 Season

[Previous Season] | [Next Season]

Averages and results available.

It makes you sick doesn't it. One of our guys never showed his face at a winter net: turns up for the first match, scores 58 and takes 5-12.

The season was played in its usual sporting fashion: one of our umpires was informed: "he'd be wearing a stump" by the time he left the ground and a match at Springburn Park was temporarily interrupted by a stabbing in the outfield, not the same umpire I hasten to add, just some locals at play. We look forward to the more tranquil pastures of our brand new ground in the Garscube Estate in the West End of Glasgow.

To celebrate this development we've got our own web site http://www.gla.ac.uk/clubs/Cricket/ (you must stop blindly entering this information, Ed.) Where you can view the ground and read about all the Uni Staff heroes of yesteryear, like Richard Cogdell who played in the same school eleven as Bob Willis when Willis was an opening batsman.
